Amy and Sonny chose to marry in the Barossa at the Novotel, Amy is from the UK (and still has an awesome accent!) and some of her family were flying over for the occasion, it made sense to have their celebrations a location where everyone could stay and enjoy a whole weekend rather than just the day. It was a fabulous idea and in getting to know these two I could see how much they loved and wanted their closest family and friends around to see them marry.
Amy and Sonny on their wedding day were expecting their first child and Amy was 30 weeks pregnant, only a couple of weeks behind me at the time so we had a lots of fun and joking around with the pregnancy talk, there was comparing bellies and pregnancy experiences but overall this didn’t change their day and we worked with Amy to create some images where her ‘bump’ is less prominent and then some shots which I would typically do with a maternity session celebrating the ‘bump’! It was beautiful and she looked absolutely amazing!
When chatting with Amy and Sonny about their location photography, we decided to head off site and go for a little drive, I am a huge fan of the grounds of Jacobs Creek Retreat and when I called to ask if we could use their property they were more than obliging – I was excited! You’ll see why in the images, its such a beautiful place and lots of areas to photograph in. We had a fabulous day, it was relaxed and very easy going, they also chose not to have a bridal party so it really was all about them and their commitment to one another.
Karen came along with me to capture their day and here are some of our favourite moments and as usual I had trouble selecting just a few!!
Amy and Sonny, thank you so much for trusting in me to capture your wedding day, both Karen and I had a fabulous time with you and your family. Wishing you all the very best for the future and time together with your new little man.
