Elyse & Peter – Engagement

To move states with your partner for work is one thing, these guys have done that but have also lived apart from each other for a year! What doesn’t break you makes you stronger and these guys are certainly testament to that!

Fast forward some time and picture a beautiful holiday planned to Greece and Turkey, a beautiful holiday spent together travelling and exploring new cultures. I asked Elyse to explain the moment that Peter asked her to marry him and here’s what she wrote:

“The proposal…. Pete organised a semi-private sunset cruise in Santorini. We set sail at the picturesque Vlicahda Marina, headed off to numerous secluded beaches for a spot of swimming & snorkelling. The Captain prepared a barbeque dinner on board using local produce; it had been a thoroughly enjoyable day. As we ventured back towards Oia to experience the world-famous sunset, Pete took me up to the top desk & proposed. I felt like I was walking on cloud nine (still am), the ring was simply gorgeous. I knew without a shadow of a doubt, that we were supposed to be together and I cannot wait to spend my life with Pete.”

What a beautiful way to ask the love of your life to marry you!

Peter works for the RAAF and has an interest in Plane’s and he recently purchased this light plane, using it as a backdrop was something I found very exciting, its not often you get to use such a plane in your shoots so the decision was made!

Of course my engagement sessions aren’t complete without a posy from Sally of Poppies Flowers and so she created this gorgeous blue/purple toned posy for the shoot. She also lent us some cute little vintage suitcases to have some fun with!

I loved this session for being different, I hope you love it too!

Thank you so much Elyse and Peter for allowing me to document this time in your lives, it was an absolute pleasure!

And just because we could, we headed into the city to take a few more shots just before sundown, I like to change things up a bit and Elyse had asked for a few shots at a different location, she changed her outfit and off we went!!
